Schoharie Valley Concert Band

Chelsea Gentner (Soprano) has been the high School and middle school Choral Director at Cobleskill-Richmondville Central Schools since February 2017. In this role she teaches the middle school chorus, the high school chorus, the high school select choir, music theory, and other general music classes.

Prior to teaching at CRCS, Chelsea completed her Bachelor of Music at SUNY Purchase in Opera Performance. She then went on to completing her teaching certificate at Central Connecticut State University in Music Education. While teaching has become her focus and passion, opera singing will always hold a very special place in her heart. Chelsea has performed leading roles in numerous opera productions at Purchase's Conservatory of Music and has continued her singing while pursuing her career in education. She is very excited and humbled to have the opportunity to perform with the Schoharie Valley Concert Band again. Having graduated from Middleburgh High School, Chelsea is also happy to be back teaching in the county in which she grew up.

Chelsea aims to encourage her students to always dream big and to follow their dreams wherever they may take them.
